It has been many years since Drake's adventures were published and today I've finally decided I will not return to Assassindrake.com. I will leave what is there up for ol' times sake.

Save the Internet with Milk

Quite possibly the most important rule of the internet, Net Neutrality, is in danger. If you haven't already heard, congress is pushing to allow ISPs to route packets at two different speeds depending on where those packets originated giving big corporations, which can afford the faster speed, an edge over the little guy. This could mean that sites like assassindrake.com would loose visitors tired of waiting for lower-tier web pages to load.

While Ted Stevens is funny enough (though very disturbing for the man in charge of regulating E-commerce) I found the reviews for Tuscan milk even funnier. When amazon.com started selling milk, people started reviewing. Here's one such review:

Maze

There is a new maze game on AssassinDrake.com This is a generator of old-style mazes from the puzzle books. It looks and feels like the paper mazes. I tried to limit the controls to act like you were looking at a piece of paper. The only difference is that you cannot go outside of the lines and you can play as many mazes as you like. Its as simple as paper and pencil version only it lasts longer.

There are two sizes to choose from. Each maze takes around a minute to complete. To begin, click on the letter "S" and to create a new maze click "F". If the maze seems kind of sluggish, you can right-click and lower the quality (the maze still looks pretty good at low quality too).

I made this maze as a favor to an old friend. (This one is for you MPF, the owner of the wrench) I give you a simple puzzle-book-style maze.

Pyramid

There is a new look for the home page of AssassinDrake.com inspired by the US Dollar bill and Egyptian hieroglyphs. The Pyramid symbolizes the greatness of AssassinDrake.com. The triangle with Drake's eye is an ancient symbol for divinity: meaning Drake is the God and protector of AssassinDrake.com.

When you hover over the eye, there is an eclipse which symbolizes how cool it looks when the sun is completely blocked out. Likewise, the hieroglyphs symbolize cool-looking-but-otherwise-meaningless-objects.

The sand color represents sand and MMVI represents 2004 (the year AssassinDrake.com was founded).

A long time ago I removed the "Contact Us" link on AssassinDrake.com pages but I left the words "Contact Us" on the bottom of the page. No doubt, this has confused many of our visitors trying to click on it. Now a new contact us form has been created to replace the heavily-spammed email address link. In order to contact AssassinDrake.com through this form you will have to enter a six-letter security code. The purpose of this is to cut down on automated emails being sent to AssassinDrake.com. If we begin to get too many phony comments on our site we may add the six-letter code to comments pages too.

Spine

The long awaited Assassin Drake game is finally here. Ok, It is quite different from the first idea for an Assassin Drake game but nevertheless, now you can play! Play Spine Here!

The object of Spine is to duplicate a spine shown on screen. The better your copy looks the better your score. The scoring is a percentage based on how well you replicate the speed and orientation of the spine. Basically, you can duplicate the spine at any location on screen but you must go the same direction as the original and you must make it look the same size. There are tons of help buttons within the game to better explain how to play.

The great part about Spine is that you can create a user account to save your high scores and compare them to other players.

A "Roadmap" for Monster

Assassin Drake presents a new visual aid to help understand the plot of Monster! To begin with this was a simple chart that showed the relationships between ten or so characters in the story. Now the graph covers most of the important characters past the mid-point and each character and relationship has a description to go allow with it.

Each character description and relationship will reveal some element of the story - this is not for people who have not read or seen monster yet! If you are in the progress of reading Monster, just avoid characters that you haven't heard about yet.

Island 2

Those of you who have seen the first installment may notice the island has changed a little. For everyone who is following the intricate story line, below is a brief synopsis of what happens betwixt the two:

Tension peaks on the small island as Caesar struggles to get home after the locals elect Drake mayor. As his first order of business, Drake takes away Caesar's coconut privileges. Caesar responds by seceding. Then aliens beam them all up and land them back at home. Now, Drake and Caesar have forgotten who they are and remember only life on the island. Caesar tries his hardest to find his way back to the island and Drake eats everything in the refrigerator. During the course of eating, Drake stubs his toe and goes berserk, growing into a huge green monster. The giant Drake eats Caesar in the confusion. Then the resourceful cat uses common household items (that Drake ate) to explode his way out of Drake. Finally, Caesar wakes up from the nightmare and the whole thing is written off as a dream except, he is still on the island and the sun is still straight up in the sky.

There are also three special bonus features, which should be watched only after seeing the main story.
Watching Island before Island 2 is not necessary but still recommended.

A new SuDoku puzzle generator has been uploaded to AssassinDrake.com here. There are an endless number of puzzles available. No two people will get the same one. It also has a trainer mode available for people who are learning to play SuDoku. Don't look to hard for SuDoku rules anywhere on AssassinDrake.com (There aren't any). Look here instead.
Special thanks goes to Luke Jeffers who wrote a mobile device version in Java recently. After seeing his version, I added some improvements to the flash version which will no doubt raise the quality of life for everyone who wants to play SuDoku online.

This also marks the begining of a new comment system on AssassinDrake.com pages. From now on, new pages will have a comments section at the bottom of each page. All that is required is a comment, though there is an option to leave you name if desired. If the system becomes popular, old pages may get comments too.

The most anticipated movie of all time...
Screenplay by Josh Olson

Josh Olson, who adapted "A History of Violence", is now working on Naoki Urasawa's best-selling Japanese manga Monster!

Set in Germany 1990's, Doctor Tenma chases Johan, a boy he saved 10 years earlier who has become a heartless monster.

It will be interesting to see how they compress the whole story down considering that the TV series is 30+ hours. I hope they keep Tenma's sidekick Dieter and the quirky inspector Lunge. I also wonder how much they will focus on the author of the children's books.
Plan on this being the #1 movie of 2007 since it will be up against stuff like "28 Weeks Later" and "Day of the Dead" (Please someone, tell the producers we are sick of bad zombie sequels.) Oh yea, there's also a "Hellboy 2", "Spiderman 3", and "Indiana Jones 4" coming out in 2007 ... so no one in America has an original idea?

Island

A new Assassin Drake short will be ready soon! For unknown reasons Drake and Caesar are stranded on an island and Drake must rescue them. Two versions will be released: one for AsssassinDrake.com and one for newgrounds.
There are also plans to intorduce a new duck character to rival Assassin Drake.

Operation Persistent

In addition to Operation Persistence, now Assassin Drake would like to introduce Operation Persistent. Much like Persistence, Persistent is about turning things up side down. Unlike Persistence, this one proves much harder to keep the unsuspecting victim from catching you in the act. For a bonus, try turning over an entire refrigerator!

Hurricane Katrina

As some of you know, the original name for Lamtissa was Katrina. The name Lamtissa was chosen over Katrina because Katrina is a real name. Now the name Katrina carries a meaning no one will forget. New Orleans is (and will continue to be for quite some time) underwater. Most of Louisiana lost power. The mayor of Kenner reports 100% of homes in Kenner have been damaged by Katrina. Students from the University of New Orleans may be finishing the semester at Louisiana State University. Classes at LSU are currently scheduled to resume after next Tuesday. If you are in Baton Rouge and want to help the disaster relief efforts at the PMAC and field house, call 225-219-0821.

What happened to Assassin Drake:
Monday: The tree in my yard fell on my back gate and I lost power for about a day. Many cell towers went down; the ones that didn't go down were at full capacity.
Tuesday: Cleaned up the mess around my house then helped The Godfather clean up his mess. a huge tree fell across his driveway and took out the power line. It may be a week before he gets power back. His car port was slightly damaged by falling limbs and the deck on the pool was destroyed. There are signs that a tornado pass through his yard. Some relatives stayed the night at my place.
Wednesday: My cousin came back from Florida. Cell phone usage returned to almost normal so I called and got calls from everywhere in the world. Traffic was a nightmare even though most stores were closed, and almost no gas stations with both gas and the power to pump it.
Thursday (Today): I return to work to help the GEOG/ENVS GIS team at LSU print maps for disaster relief. Also, I tried to help out at the PMAC but things were in a state of security lockdown due to rioting around the Centroplex area. Most traffic lights work today.
Friday: Probably the same as today. I may start thinking about school again.

Thank you to everyone who has showed concern for Assassin Drake. Drake is fine but all projects are on hold until further notice.

Earth Eye Moon

The very old and very plain Eye Earth Moon Sim has been updated. I wasn't expecting to make any changes to EEM but someone notified me that there was a big problem with it. What was the problem you ask? The pupil stayed the same size in daylight and at night. Besides that, the old one was pretty sad.
Changes in Eye Earth Moon 2.0:
1) the pupil expands and contracts
2) the earth 'follows' the moon
3) stars appear in the sky
4) sky tones are less contrasting
5) buttons match new web site design

I'm launching an ad campaign for AssassinDrake.com this summer.

Drake's new partner, Google Inc., now provides ad revenue for the site. If I get too many complaints about ads I might cut back on a few pages. You'll also notice the new format for the site includes leaderboard space for ads. On pages not containing Google ads, you'll find Assassin Drake ads. These will mostly do nothing but some are interactive and may lead to other pages only WITHIN AssassinDrake.com.

Back to the ad campaign:
The new format for AssassinDrake.com contains more content allowing popular search engines to hit the site more often. In addition, now links to AssassinDrake.com show up on a number of other sites in form of text, banners, leaderboards and skyscraper ads.

Assassin Drake: Turteloni

Yes, the movie is done: ASSASSIN DRAKE: TURTELONI
There are two versions, the full version which includes extra scenes and the short version which ends differently.

Assassin Drake's next adventure "Assassin Drake: Turteloni 2" will continue from the ending in the full version.
"Assassin Drake: Turteloni" will not be the next animation: coming up are a few other projects listed below in on particular order.
Assassin Drake: Lamtissa - another Assassin Drake movie
Spaghetti & Meat Balls - a short skit with some people from Assassin Drake
Wordsearch puzzle - a wordsearch in Flash.

Most of the old characters are not in this movie, however. Drake will once again be given a mission by Caesar Salad. This time Drake will need a high tech gadget to complete the mission. Look forward to seeing a walking tux or a talking nose.

Sunkiss is finished! You might remember me saying something like:
"Right now, Ryan and I are working on a great idea that I think will easily top everything we've both done up to this point. All I can say right now is that it will feature Druid - I kiss your lips (remix). Hopefully it will be ready sometime in July. Poose Muzzle

Enough people have had problems completing the Poose Muzzle that I now have the complete instructions.

How to complete the puzzle:
Press the flowing keys once each any order: q, e, a, s, d, z, c, b, m, h.
These keys each toggle part of a hidden word, once the word is complete move on.
Then press n.
To complete the puzzle, quickly press the r key followed by the n key again.
The word 'Winner!' should now appear above the moose.

What each key does:
v: toggles hidden word.

q: wink right eye
w: blink
e: wink left eye

a: rock right antler
s: pinch antlers
d: rock left antler

z: tilt head left
x: straighten head
c: tilt head right

t: raise right ear
y: right ear stays up
u: raise both ears
i: left ear stays up
o: raise left ear

f: raise right ear the other way
g: right ear stays up the other way
j: raise both ears the other way (you have to win first!)
k: left ear stays up the other way
l: raise left ear the other way

h: make hair stick up

b: wiggle nose left
n: wiggle nose up
m: wiggle nose right
p: wiggle nose down (you have to win first!)

r: make Drake run away (when visible)

Where you can click and what it does:
eyes: wink
antlers: tilt head

The plot is very simple: Assassin Drake is a duck. He is given a mission by Caesar Salad. Then he completes his mission and levels up.

It's my first published flash work not counting the website I put flash in for CADGIS so it's pretty bad.
